Digital Marketing for Marketing Agencies in Nepal
A marketing agency wins the account on the creative and the plan. Then the client asks why the ads report leads that never reach the sales team, or why the site still isn't on page one. That's the moment an agency needs a technical person it can trust, and that's the work I do.
Animated agency partnership: an agency sends a brief to one senior partner who delivers work out to three client boards, each client's SEO, ads and social bars grow and a report chip appears on every board, showing white-label partnership as one specialist behind many client accounts.
I'm Shashikant Shah, a digital marketing expert in Kathmandu and a software engineer with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. I work with marketing and creative agencies in Nepal as the one technical person behind their campaigns: SEO, tracking, websites, landing pages and automation, in their client's own accounts, under their name or mine. I've done that kind of work with THT Digital and Football Circus on cross platform advertising and SEM, with analytics tracking millions of views. My prices are published, and I build the pages and the tracking myself.
Short answer: digital marketing for a marketing agency in Nepal means having the technical side covered. You do the strategy, the content and the creative. Someone has to make the site rank, make the tracking count real enquiries, build landing pages that load fast and automate the reporting. I'm that someone, as a white label or named partner.
How marketing agencies choose a technical partner in Nepal
An agency in Kathmandu or Pokhara rarely goes looking for a technical partner on a calm day. It happens when a pitch needs an SEO section by Friday, or when a client's campaign is live and the conversions in Meta don't match the enquiries the client actually got.
The first call goes to someone the founder knows. A former colleague, a freelancer from a Facebook group, the developer who built the agency's own site two years ago. It works until that person is busy, and then the agency is explaining a delay to a client.
The bigger agencies in the Valley hire in house, and at a certain size that's right. Below it, a full time SEO or developer is expensive to keep busy, and the work comes in bursts anyway: launches, Dashain campaigns, the pitches that pile up in Bhadra and Ashwin.
What the agency actually wants is simple. One person who answers, works in the client's accounts, doesn't talk to the client behind the agency's back, and can be named or kept quiet as the agency prefers.
The problems I see most often:
- Meta and Google ads reporting conversions that are really page views, because the pixel and the tags were set up in a hurry.
- A client site on a cheap shared host that goes down on the day the campaign launches.
- SEO promised in the proposal, with nobody on the team who can deliver it after the audit.
- Landing pages built by the client's own developer, in the wrong colours, with a form that emails nobody.
- Monthly reports assembled by hand from five dashboards, so the last week of every month goes on spreadsheets.
What I do for marketing agencies
- Technical SEO: audits and fixes on your client's site, written so your account manager can present them and your developer, or I, can act on them.
- SEO delivery for client accounts under your name: the pages, the links and Search Console, reported monthly in plain English.
- Web development: landing pages and full sites built to your creative, fast, on the client's own domain and a host that stays up on launch day.
- Tracking: GA4, Search Console, the pixel and Conversions API for your Meta ads, conversions for your Google Ads, and call and WhatsApp tracking, all in the client's accounts so your report matches the client's phone.
- Automation: leads routed from forms and ads to the client's WhatsApp or sheet within a minute, monthly reports that build themselves, and an AI chatbot where a client needs one.
- GEO and AEO: so your client's brand shows up when someone asks ChatGPT or Google's AI for a recommendation, which is a service you can now sell.
The first 90 days
Days 1 to 30. We start with one client account, not all of them. I audit the site, the tracking and the ad accounts, fix the tracking first so the next report is true, and we agree the rules: your name or mine, who talks to the client, what I invoice you.
Days 31 to 60. The technical fixes and the first build go live: landing pages for the running campaign, the SEO changes from the audit, tracking on every form, call button and WhatsApp link. You get a plain English note for the client each time something ships.
Days 61 to 90. We compare the numbers with the baseline: enquiries the client confirms, cost per lead, Search Console impressions and clicks. Then we decide whether I stay on that one account, pick up a second, or move to a monthly arrangement across your book. You get all of this as a written plan before we start, with what's not included.
Who I've worked with in agencies and media
THT Digital and Football Circus are on my case studies page under the scope I delivered: cross platform advertising and SEM, with analytics tracking millions of views. That is agency side work, where the deliverable disappears into someone else's brand. I haven't published an agency partnership with a client's revenue attached, and I won't invent one.
The published results closest to what an agency asks me for came from engagements I worked on as part of an agency team, so read them as account totals. An education consultancy's Google Ads cost per lead went from NPR 3,500 to NPR 2,100, with leads roughly doubled at an unchanged NPR 300,000 a month spend. A Kathmandu ecommerce site's organic sessions went from 2,300 to 13,500 a month in 12 months.
The technical proof is this website. I built it myself and it passes 15 automated checks on every deploy. That's the standard I bring to a client site that carries your name.
What it costs for marketing agencies
My prices are published. An audit of one client account, covering the site, the tracking and the ad setup with a 30 day action plan is USD 249, about NPR 34,000. A four week sprint is USD 899, about NPR 122,000. Ongoing work is USD 1,800 a month, about NPR 245,000. What each one leaves out is on the pricing page. The first thirty minute call is free, and if the account only needs the audit, I'll say so before you quote the client.
Questions marketing agencies ask
Will you contact our client directly?
Only in the way we agree at the start. If you introduce me by name, I join the calls you invite me to. If I'm white label, the client never hears from me. Either way I don't pitch your client on my own work, now or after the engagement ends.
Can we present your work as ours?
Yes. White label is normal. The audits, the pages and the reports go out under your name, and I stay off the client's email thread. If the client asks who built something, you decide what to say.
Do you take clients directly? Are you competing with us?
I do work with businesses directly, at the prices on this site. I don't take on a client that came to me through an agency, and I don't quote your client behind you. If a direct enquiry turns out to be an agency's client, I send it back.
How quickly can you turn around a landing page before a campaign?
A single landing page with tracking, built to your creative, usually takes five to ten working days once I have the design and the copy. A full site is four to eight weeks. Tracking fixes on an existing site are often done within the week. Tell me the launch date and I'll say yes or no honestly.
How do you charge an agency, and can we mark it up?
Same published prices as anyone else: the audit, the sprint or the monthly retainer. I invoice you, and what you charge the client is yours to decide. For an agency with several accounts, the monthly retainer usually covers more than one, and we set that in writing.
When are you not the right person?
When you need copy, creative or someone to run the client relationship. That's your side, not mine. When you need a developer sitting in your office every day, I'm remote and part time on your account. And I don't guarantee rankings or ad results, so if a pitch needs a promise, I can't be the one who signs it.
