Web Development in Lalitpur, Nepal
A software company in Pulchowk, a design studio in Jhamsikhel and a restaurant in Patan need a website for different reasons, but the moment is the same: the old site is slow, someone else holds the login, or the enquiries have stopped. I build websites in Next.js, React and Node.js for businesses in Lalitpur, and you keep the code.
Animated full-stack request: a browser sends a request down through an API layer to a database, the response travels back up and the page's layout blocks render one by one, showing web development in Lalitpur as front end, API and data working as one system.
I'm Shashikant Shah, a digital marketing expert in Kathmandu and a software engineer with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. Lalitpur is a short drive from me, so Patan, Jhamsikhel, Pulchowk and Satdobato are places I can be for a first meeting the same day. This page is my website development service for businesses there: the same stack and the same ownership terms. It sits under the software development side of my work, next to the marketing I do in Lalitpur.
Short answer: web development in Lalitpur means the same thing it means anywhere I work: a written scope first, a Next.js, React or Node.js build that serves real HTML to Google, hosting on Cloudflare or Vercel in your own account, and a handover with the repository and the domain in your name. The difference is that I can sit in your office in Pulchowk for the scoping call.
When you need this
Lalitpur has a lot of software companies, outsourcing firms and B2B service businesses around Pulchowk, Jawalakhel and Patan, and their own websites are often the last thing anyone looks after. The product gets the engineering hours; the company site is a template a founder is embarrassed to send to a client abroad.
The other half of Lalitpur is Jhamsikhel's restaurants and cafes, the shops and clinics along the Satdobato road, the schools and colleges. Their sites need something simpler, done well: show up for a local search, load fast on a phone, and send the enquiry to WhatsApp or a number that's answered.
In both cases the site was usually built by someone who has moved on, on hosting someone else pays for, with a login nobody can find. That's where I usually start.
The problems I see most often:
- A company site for a technical business that renders only in the browser, so the very people who'd judge the engineering see a slow, empty page.
- A restaurant or shop in Jhamsikhel with no page that ranks for its own area, and a contact form instead of a WhatsApp button.
- The domain or the hosting in a former vendor's name.
- A marketing site that can't talk to the product, the API or the CMS the team already runs.
- No tracking, so nobody in the company knows whether the site brought last month's enquiries.
What I actually do
- Scoping in technical language when your team is technical: a written scope with fixed deliverables that your own engineers can review and challenge before work starts. You get a brief you can hold me to.
- Company and product sites for Lalitpur's software firms in Next.js: clear positioning, case studies built from what your team can actually substantiate, and the technical credibility a peer would look for first. You get a site that doesn't embarrass the engineering behind it, the same work I describe for technology companies.
- Documentation sites, status pages and client portals that integrate with the product you already run rather than sitting beside it. You get one system, with backend work from me where it's needed.
- Local business sites for Jhamsikhel, Patan and Satdobato: an area page that ranks, a menu or service list with prices, WhatsApp, Viber and click to call, and eSewa, Khalti or Fonepay where you sell online. You get enquiries the way people here actually send them.
- Speed, accessibility and search readiness built in: real HTML in the response, schema, a sitemap, keyboard navigation, measured on a throttled mobile connection. You get a site that's ready for technical SEO without a rebuild.
- Hosting and deployment on Cloudflare or Vercel in your own account, version controlled from the first commit, with a written handover your team can maintain without me. You get everything in your name.
How it works
First call and scoping. The first thirty minutes are free, on a call or in your office in Pulchowk. You tell me what the site has to prove and what it has to integrate with, and I tell you whether it needs a rebuild, a targeted fix or nothing. If you go ahead, scoping gives you a written plan with fixed deliverables, dates and what's not included.
The work. A company site is usually a few weeks; a portal or an application depends on the scope. I build in a repository in your name and put every increment on a staging URL your team can review and comment on. If the site needs to talk to your API, your auth or your CMS, that's designed in from the first week, not discovered at handover.
Reporting, and what you keep. You get a plain language update every week during the build, and if I also run the marketing, a monthly report from your own Analytics and Search Console after launch. The code, the repository, the domain and the hosting are in your name. If we stop, you lose my access and nothing else.
Proof from web development in Lalitpur work
Kyte Research (kyte.one) and AirLyft (airlyft.one), both technology companies outside Nepal, had me on web development and full stack development, the closest published work to what a Lalitpur software firm asks for. Treebones Resort's website, deployment workflow and Cloudflare setup were mine. NIMBUS Holdings came to me for website design and promotion. The scope of each is on the case studies page.
None of those is in Lalitpur, and I haven't published a Lalitpur website result yet, so I won't pretend to one. This site is proof of the method: I built it myself, and it passes 15 automated checks on every deploy, from links to structured data.
What web development in Lalitpur costs
A website for a Lalitpur business is quoted per project after the first call, because the scope decides the price. Everything I build is created in your name, on accounts and hosting you control, so ending the engagement costs you nothing but my access. My published retainer for ongoing work is USD 1,800 a month, about NPR 245,000, and the audit and sprint prices are on the pricing page. The first thirty minute call is free, and if a targeted fix to the site you already have is enough, I'll say so and quote for that instead.
Questions about web development in Lalitpur
Why does Lalitpur get its own page?
Because the buyer is often different. Many Lalitpur enquiries come from a technical founder or a CTO in Pulchowk or Jawalakhel who wants to scope developer to developer, and many others come from a cafe in Jhamsikhel that needs to be found on Maps. The stack, the ownership terms and the process are identical to my main web development page.
Can you build the marketing site alongside our actual product?
Yes, and that's the most common request from a software company: a marketing or documentation site that sits in front of a product you already run, built to the standard your own engineers expect. It talks to your API or CMS where it has to.
Do you work with our engineering team rather than around them?
Yes. The scope is written so your engineers can review and challenge it before I start, the code lives in your repository from the first commit, and the handover is written for your team to maintain without me. I'd rather be a short engagement than a permanent dependency.
How long does a website take?
A marketing or company site is usually a few weeks once the content is ready. A portal or an application depends on scope. The scope document sets the dates, and if something is going to slip you hear it early.
What does a website cost in Lalitpur?
The same as anywhere I work: quoted per project after the first call, because the scope decides it. What websites cost in Nepal and what each price band buys is in this guide. Tell me your budget and I'll tell you what it buys, including when it isn't enough.
When are you not the right person?
If you need a large team on site every day, an enterprise system with a procurement process, or a template at the lowest price, I'm not the right fit and I'll say so. I take a few projects at a time and do the work myself.
