Short answer: Google Ads in Nepal costs two things: the money you pay Google for clicks, and the money you pay someone to run the account. Most service businesses in Kathmandu need NPR 30,000 to 50,000 a month in ad spend before the account produces enough conversion data to learn from. A click costs anywhere from NPR 10 to NPR 500 depending on the sector, and Nepal's average sits well under NPR 100.

Management is a separate fee on top: published Nepali guides put freelancers at NPR 15,000 to 25,000 a month and agencies at NPR 40,000 or 15 to 20 percent of spend. My own work starts at USD 249 (about NPR 34,000) for an audit that includes your ad accounts, USD 899 (about NPR 122,000) for a four week sprint with one paid campaign, and USD 1,800 a month (about NPR 245,000) for ongoing work.

The two costs, and why quotes blur them

Ad spend goes to Google. It buys the clicks. Management goes to whoever runs the account. It buys the structure, the tracking, the testing and the reporting. A quote that gives you one combined number hides which part you pay for, and it usually means the management is tiny and the spend does all the work, or the other way round.

Ask for both numbers separately, every month. If a provider will not split them, that tells you something.

What a click costs in Nepal

Nepal is one of the cheaper countries to advertise in. International benchmark sets put the average search click in Nepal near USD 0.65, under NPR 90, against a global average of about USD 2.70. That average hides a wide spread, because Google runs an auction for every search and the price follows how many advertisers want that search and how much a customer is worth to them.

SectorTypical click costWhy
E-commerce and retailLow, often NPR 10 to 30Many searches, low value per order, few advertisers bidding hard.
Local services (clinics, repairs, salons)Low to medium, NPR 25 to 80Steady demand, moderate competition inside Kathmandu Valley.
Real estateMedium, NPR 35 to 100High value per deal, more agencies bidding.
Education and study abroadHigh, NPR 50 to 250Consultancies compete hard for every student enquiry.
Trekking and tours (international searchers)High, NPR 150 to 500 or moreYou bid against global agencies for travellers searching from abroad.

These ranges are compiled from published Nepali advertising guides and the accounts I have audited. Treat them as the shape of the market, not a rate card. Your own cost per click shows in your account within a week of running, and that number is the only one that matters.

What drives your cost per click

  • Competition for the keyword. "Study in Australia" in Kathmandu costs far more per click than "plumber in Bhaktapur", because more advertisers want it.
  • Intent. A query from someone ready to buy costs more and is worth more. A query from a student researching costs less and is worth nothing to you.
  • Quality. Google charges less per click when the ad, the keyword and the landing page agree with each other. Most Nepali accounts pay a premium here without knowing it.
  • The landing page. A slow page, or one that does not match the ad, wastes clicks you have already paid for. That is where cost per acquisition gains come from once the account is clean.

How much to budget, by stage

StageAd spend a monthManagement a monthWhat you learn

Small business, steady leadsNPR 30,000 to 50,000NPR 15,000 to 30,000Cost per enquiry, and which searches bring customers.
Growing brandNPR 50,000 to 1,50,000 or moreNPR 25,000 to 50,000, or 15 to 20 percent of spendWhich campaigns scale and which only spend.

The management ranges come from published Nepali price guides, October 2026. A worked example makes the spend side concrete. Say you set NPR 1,000 a day, which is about NPR 30,000 a month. At NPR 60 a click you buy roughly 500 clicks.

If one visitor in twenty calls or messages, that is 25 enquiries at NPR 1,200 each. If one enquiry in five becomes a customer, each customer costs you NPR 6,000 in ad spend. Put your own numbers in that chain before you start, because it tells you whether the channel can ever pay.

Where the money usually leaks

Most Nepali accounts I look at share the same three faults, and a bigger budget fixes none of them.

  1. Broad match with no negative keywords, so the account buys clicks from job seekers and students who typed something similar to what your buyers type.
  2. One campaign for every service and every city, so someone searching for MBBS in Bangladesh sees an ad about IT courses in Australia.
  3. Conversion tracking that counts page views as leads, so the account optimises for the wrong thing and the reports look better than the phone does.

Fixing those is structural work, and it is why the same spend can produce very different results. In the two Google Ads results published on this site, cost per lead fell 40% at unchanged spend for an education consultancy, and cost per acquisition fell about 46% in 90 days for a home services business. Both came from engagements I worked on, some as part of an agency team, and both are stated with baselines and timeframes so you can judge them.

How to pay Google from Nepal, and the tax on top

You pay Google in US dollars, and that is the step that stops many Nepali businesses before they start. You have two working routes. The first is a prepaid dollar card from a Nepali bank in your own name, loaded within the limit your bank allows for online payments; the limit changes with central bank rules, so ask your bank for the current figure. The second is an agency that bills you in rupees and pays Google from its own account.

On either route, Nepal charges 13 percent VAT on digital services sold by foreign companies, and Google adds it to spend billed to a Nepal address. Budget for it. And whichever route you choose, insist that the Google Ads account itself is created under your own email, with the agency added as a manager. If the account lives in someone else's name, your history, your conversion data and your learning leave with them.

What is different in Nepal

  • Search volume is thin outside Kathmandu. Exact match campaigns for Pokhara or Biratnagar often cannot spend their budget. Location layered campaigns with phrase match and tight negatives work better than a copy of the campaign for every city.
  • Calls beat forms. For most Nepali service businesses the lead arrives by phone or WhatsApp. If those are not tracked as conversions, you cannot measure the cost of a real enquiry, only the cost of a click.
  • Diaspora demand is real and separate. Education, property and remittance products attract searches from Nepalis in Australia, the Gulf and the UK, with different costs and different economics. That is its own campaign, not an afterthought.
  • Mobile first. Most clicks in Nepal come from phones on mobile data, so a landing page that takes five seconds to load burns the budget before anyone reads it.

Google Ads or SEO first?

Run ads first when you need enquiries this month and your website already converts. Start with SEO when the site has technical problems, when your buyers research for weeks before they call, or when you want traffic that does not stop the day the budget stops. Most businesses do best with a small ads test to find the searches that bring customers, then SEO on exactly those searches. The SEO side of the budget is in what SEO costs in Nepal.

What I charge to run it

  • Audit and quick wins, USD 249 (about NPR 34,000). Includes a review of your ad accounts, findings on where conversions leak, and a prioritised 30 day action plan you can hand to anyone.
  • Growth sprint, USD 899 (about NPR 122,000). Four weeks covering SEO foundations, one paid campaign, and a conversion pass on the pages that matter.
  • Retainer with automation, USD 1,800 a month (about NPR 245,000). Ongoing work across search and paid media, reported from your own Google Ads and Analytics, with cost per qualified lead as the headline number.

Ad spend is always separate and always paid by you, in an account you own. I work inside it and you can revoke my access at any time. The pricing page has what each tier leaves out, and the Google Ads management in Kathmandu page covers the capital's market specifically. If your customers are on Facebook and Instagram rather than searching, the Meta Ads expert in Nepal page is the right one to read.

What a Google Ads account audit costs, and what it finds

A Google Ads account audit is the cheapest money you can spend on an account that has been running for three months or more. Mine is included in the USD 249 (about NPR 34,000) audit tier, takes five days and comes back as a written 30 day plan you can hand to whoever runs the account. Nepali agencies sometimes offer the audit free as a sales step; that is fine if you remember what it is for.

What the audit checksWhat it usually finds in Nepali accounts
Conversion trackingPage views counted as leads, calls and WhatsApp clicks not counted at all
Match types and negativesBroad match with no negative list, so job seekers and students spend the budget
Campaign structureOne campaign for every service and every city, so nothing can be judged on its own
Location and scheduleTargeting set to all of Nepal, ads running at 2 a.m. when nobody answers the phone
Landing pagesAds sent to the home page, forms that fail on a phone, no number above the fold
Account ownership and billingAccount in the agency's name, so the history leaves when the agency does

The audit I run on small accounts, step by step, is written up in Google Ads on a small budget, including the account where cost per lead fell 40% at the same spend.

Running Google Ads on a small budget

If NPR 30,000 a month is a stretch, do not spread it across every service. Pick the one offer with the clearest buying intent, run it in one tight campaign with call and WhatsApp tracking, and leave everything else off until it pays for itself. I wrote up the exact audit I use for small accounts in Google Ads on a small budget.

What to ask before you pay anyone to run it

  • What is the ad spend and what is the management fee, as two numbers?
  • Which conversions will you track, and will calls and WhatsApp count?
  • Who owns the account, and what happens to it if we stop?
  • What did cost per lead look like on a similar account before and after your work, with dates?
  • What will you not do with my budget?

Questions about Google Ads bills in Nepal

How much does Google Ads cost in Nepal per month?

Ad spend of at least NPR 30,000 to 50,000 a month for most service businesses in Kathmandu, so the account has enough conversion data to learn from, plus a separate management fee of NPR 15,000 to 50,000 depending on who runs it. Every published Nepali price list treats management and spend as two numbers.

How much does one click cost in Nepal?

From about NPR 10 for retail searches to NPR 500 or more for trekking searches made from abroad. Nepal's average search click is near USD 0.65, under NPR 90. Your own account shows your real number within a week.

Does Google Ads have a minimum budget in Nepal?

Google sets no minimum; you can run a campaign on NPR 200 a day. The practical minimum is the spend that produces enough conversions for the account to learn, which is why NPR 30,000 a month is the floor I recommend for a service business.

Can I run Google Ads with NPR 10,000 a month?

You can spend it, but a competitive account cannot learn from it. At that level, run one tight campaign for one offer with call tracking, or spend the money on fixing the site first.

Is one dollar a day enough for Google Ads?

No. A dollar a day buys one or two clicks in most Nepali sectors, which is not enough to learn anything in a month. Test with at least NPR 500 to 1,000 a day for four weeks, then decide.

How much do 1,000 impressions cost?

On search you pay per click, not per impression, so 1,000 people can see your ad for free if nobody clicks. On Display and YouTube you can buy impressions, and in Nepal a thousand cost from a few hundred rupees upward depending on the audience.

Do I pay if someone sees my ad but does not click?

Not on search campaigns. You pay only when someone clicks. Impressions without clicks cost nothing, which is why a search campaign with a precise keyword list is the cheapest way to start.

Why does my cost per click change from day to day?

Because every search is a fresh auction. Competitors raise or lower bids, new advertisers arrive, and your own Quality Score moves as your click through rate changes. Judge the account on weekly averages, not single days.

How do I pay for Google Ads from Nepal?

With a prepaid dollar card from a Nepali bank in your own name, or through an agency that bills you in rupees and pays Google from its account. Either way, keep the Google Ads account itself in your name.

Is there tax on Google Ads in Nepal?

Yes. Nepal applies 13 percent VAT to digital services sold by foreign companies, and Google adds it to spend billed to a Nepal address. Agencies that bill in rupees add VAT to their invoice as well.

What does a Google Ads expert charge in Nepal?

Management is quoted on top of ad spend: published Nepali guides put freelancers at NPR 15,000 to 25,000 a month and agencies at NPR 40,000 or 15 to 20 percent of spend. My own options are USD 249 (about NPR 34,000) for an audit that includes the ad account, USD 899 (about NPR 122,000) for a sprint with one paid campaign, and USD 1,800 a month (about NPR 245,000) for ongoing work.

How much does PPC cost in Nepal?

PPC is the same thing as Google Ads or Meta Ads priced per click, so the PPC price in Nepal is the two numbers above: ad spend from about NPR 30,000 a month for a service business to learn anything, plus a management fee of NPR 15,000 to 40,000 a month or 15 to 20 percent of spend. My management options are USD 249 (about NPR 34,000) one-off, USD 899 (about NPR 122,000) for a sprint and USD 1,800 a month (about NPR 245,000).

Why is my cost per lead so high?

Usually one of three faults: broad match with no negatives, one campaign for every service and city, or tracking that counts page views as leads. None of them is fixed by a bigger budget.

How long before Google Ads brings customers?

Clicks arrive the day the campaign goes live. Useful results take four to six weeks, because the account needs that long to collect conversions and because the first two weeks are spent cutting the searches that waste money.

Should I choose Google Ads or SEO?

Ads when you need enquiries now and the site converts; SEO when you want traffic that compounds and the site needs work. Most businesses need both, ads first to find the searches that bring customers, then SEO on those searches.

Do you need my card details to run the account?

No. You own the account and the billing. I work inside it, and you can remove my access at any time.
